I had a mission. To research how much it would cost to order a custom-made birthday cake for Joseph. The requirement - it had to be in the shape of a number 1. After visits to several bakeries, I have decided that I will bake it myself and channel the money to Joseph's college fund. Yup, Joseph will have a bigger college fund, AND a number 1-shaped birthday cake, baked with loads of tender loving care. Now to find the perfect recipe to bake the cake.... |

babytalk
bwah bah bvah whatever. That's what Joseph has been saying in this past 2 days. I tell him "pa pa" and point to Edwin. He looks at me, then continues his babbling. Again, music to my ears. |

blissful refreshing sleep
Joseph slept for a total of 10.5 continuous hours last night. I too slept blissfully. Felt refreshed this morning after the few consecutive nights of disturbed sleep resulting in a splitting headache and dizzyness yesterday morning. Having had enough sleep last night, Joseph was a cheerful happy baby this morning. He bounced and rolled all over our bed. And he's just learning the effects of gravity. He grabs his towels or plastic toy balls and throws them over the edge of the bed. then he goes to the edge to look at it on the floor. I pick it up and put it back on the bed. He picks it up and throws it again the squeals with laughter. Music to my ears indeed.

Beethoven or Schumacher
We spent the weekend in Seremban. Joseph must have really enjoyed himself. Me, I need another weekend to recuperate. On Friday night, hewoke up at some unearthly hour and decided he needed some body warmth. So he snuggled himself in between Edwin and I. Actually he snuggled right next to me. After he crawled all over me and almost pushed me off the bed, he buried his head somewhere in armpit and fell asleep. On Saturday night, he did the same. But this time, he refused to fall asleep until I got up and rocked him to sleep. So there I was at 4 o'clock in the morning 'dancing' around and singing Jesus loves me this I know. Over the weekend, Joseph played the piano, squashed a couple of ants, drove a car and played the drums. Actually, to be more accurate, Joseph banged on the piano, held the steering wheel while I drove and whacked the drums. He really did squash the ants though. I am amazed that he has the ability to track a teeny weeny ant that is crawling on the floor (which is not clear plain tiles...see photo) and aim his tiny pudgy finger at it to squash it. |

10 months and counting
10 months. That's how long it has been since I was lying in the operation theatre as the doctors prepared to sembelih me. Time flies. It really does. Joseph has grown from a 49 cm-long, 3.44kg bundle of crying, pooh-ing newborn to a 77cm-long, 10.5kg chubbily heavy and super-active baby.In 2 months, he'll be a toddler. We're thinking of how we'll be celebrating his 1st birthday. Since it falls on Good Friday, won't be very appropriate to throw a party. My sister says we must...absolutely must get a cake in the shape of a number 1. Coz she had a number 1 cake, and I had a number 1 cake. So Joseph must have a number 1 cake.Wonder if TGIF makes their yummy mocha mud pie in the shape of a number 1.Wonder how much it would cost? Sponsors anyone???
