RSUC swimming gala and family carnival

We went back to Seremban for Sungai Ujong Club's Annual swimming gala and Family Carnival yesterday (9th Nov). I had already told Joseph that his daddy was gonna take part in a swimming competition and taught him to cheer!

Daalin took part in 2 events - 100m freestyle men above 21 and 100m breaststroke men above 21.

As expected, he won both events.
Thankfully the weather was not too hot and the kids enjoyed just climbing around the poolside table.

Mama wants me to look cool...

Joe : I want to hug Joy-Anne

Joe to Joy : ride the pony!!!

After the swimming, we had some food but the highlight for Joseph was meeting Clifford - the big red dog.

There were pony rides too but he wouldn't ride. This was the nearest he would go to the pony.

After that he went to play on the bouncing castles (RM4 per entry) and really had a lot of fun!

tired and ready to go home

It was a good fun-filled morning indeed!

ouch! I'm fine.

Joe burnt his chin on Tuesday night. He leaned on a pot which I didn't realize was that hot, at dinner. Immediately he drew back but did not cry nor complain.
It wasn't until later when I was brushing his teeth that I noticed the scald mark. Shocked, I asked him if it was painful but he said, "No, I'm fine."
He would rather bear it in silence afraid that we'll take him to see a doctor.

unisex toys

I'm not one to spend on toys. Only rewards :-) So no dolls for Joy-Anne. She will play with whatever is in the house. For example this shape-O toy is 30 years old.

fun when mama doesn't work

Joseph likes it when mama doesn't have to go to work. I know this because I have asked him (on more than one occasion) whether he likes it if I go to work, or if I stay at home. And his answer is always that I stay at home.
Last thursday evening, I asked him....
mama : Joe, mama is not working tomorrow.....would you like to go kai kai at err....megamall?
Joe : ermm.....actually....Ikea is better.
So off to Ikea we went on Friday morning. We got there at 9.30am to have the 99sen breakfast and free coffee before Joe played in the children's area.

I always enjoy my conversations with Joseph during meals. But sometimes, he talks a bit too much and I've to remind him to eat....and not talk with his mouth full.

mmm....check out my 'misai'

Joy-Anne is now big enough to enjoy Ikea. We put her on one of those beds with the tunnel-like canopy and she was really happy, laughing and squealing while crawling around with Joseph. Unfortunately my camera ran out of battery. Joe had a good time pretending he was a bear in a cave.

We'll have to go back another day for more photos. It's just lovely to see how much Joseph loves his sister when they play together.

daalin's birthday

Daalin turned 32 yesterday. We had an earlier celeration with Ah Mah and Ah Kong last weekend. Ah Mah made the cake.
Joe simply enjoys blowing out the candles. He huffs and puffs (in his own words) and blows his saliva all over the cake!

don't they look so alike?

Yesterday, we had our own little celebration. Joe huffed and puffed again.

We got a blueberry cream cake from Baker's Cottage. It was the "Today's Special" and so after extra 20% discount, it cost only RM25.60.... cheap and good.
After he huffed and puffed, Joseph helped himself to the cake. He said, "I only want the cream."

Joy-Anne also had a taste of cake....thanks to Nana!

She was very happy and opened her mouth very big to wallop more cake!

mm.... now this is real food!!

We also had our standard party food... pizza!

what a yummy mess I am!!!
Domino's pizza is our standard staple for little treats. Joe loves it (but must have pineapple!)!! Last night, we 3 adults + Joe finished 2 large pizza.

Joy-Anne just got to lick it because in Joseph's words..... "Joy-Anne has no teeth!"
when do I get to eat?

dinner with Ah Ku

I was supposed to post this up earlier but forgot about it. Ah Ku and Aunty Joanne came over for dinner on Saturday night because we had friends in town.

Joseph always enjoys Ah Ku's company. He entertains with his tricks....

He wrestles with Joseph...
quick call CSI....body count 2

And he teaches Joseph things that I don't...

Aunty Joanne is great with helping with Joy-Anne. Their names makes my mother very confused.

Joe : I also wanna hug

Joe : but don't you think I'm more good looking than Ah Ku?

Joy-Anne can stand unaided for up to 5 seconds now...
don't believe me ah?

nah....show you la!

all that showing off makes me so tired
